Illuminated Lantern Path
Focus the holiday magic on the steps themselves by creating a glowing pathway of light. Leave the handrail simple or completely bare, and instead, arrange a collection of lanterns down one side of the staircase. Mix and match different styles, sizes, and finishes of lanterns—such as black iron, polished silver, and natural wood—each containing a safe, battery-operated LED candle. Intersperse small sprigs of pine and loose pinecones between the lanterns to soften the look. This design creates a warm, dramatic, and incredibly welcoming guiding light through your home.
