18. The Menacing Shadow-Caster
This design uses the back of the pumpkin to tell a story. Carve a simple, scary face on the front of the pumpkin, but on the back, carve an intricate, oversized silhouette of a lunging monster or a flying witch. Place the pumpkin close to a blank exterior wall. The light from inside will project the terrifying shadow from the back of the pumpkin directly onto your home, creating a massive, dramatic display.
