Illuminated Packing Tape Ghost
Create a stunning, life-sized, glowing sculpture of a human figure using nothing but clear packing tape. This advanced-looking DIY technique allows you to wrap a form to create a hollow, glass-like statue that glows brilliantly when illuminated from within, looking like a real spirit frozen in time.
Using a volunteer or a dress form, carefully wrap sections of the body (like the torso, arms, or head) in plastic wrap first to protect skin and clothing. Wrap clear packing tape tightly over the plastic wrap, sticky side out first, then sticky side down to build a strong, rigid shell. Carefully cut the shell open with safety scissors to release the form, then tape the seam back together. Place a bright LED light strip or color-changing puck light inside the hollow figure. When placed in your yard or window, it looks like a glowing, crystal-clear apparition.
