Milk Jug Ghosts
Light up your walkway with a family of glowing milk jug ghosts. This classic, family-friendly DIY project is an excellent way to upcycle plastic gallon jugs into bright, welcoming lanterns. When lined up along a driveway, porch steps, or garden path, they create a warm, nostalgic Halloween glow that guides guests to your door.
Thoroughly clean and dry several translucent plastic milk jugs. Use a black permanent marker to draw unique, expressive ghost faces on the flat side opposite the handle—some happy, some spooky, and some surprised. Carefully cut a small hole in the back or bottom of each jug. Insert a string of warm white Christmas lights, battery-operated fairy lights, or LED puck lights through the holes. Weigh the jugs down with a few pebbles or sand so they do not blow away, and plug them in to watch your custom spirit guide pathway come to life.
