Mason Jar Mummy Lanterns

Bring a cozy, flickering warmth to your tablescapes and windowsills with mummy lanterns made from recycled glass jars. This project is incredibly simple, making it a perfect craft for kids, yet the finished product looks beautifully rustic and atmospheric when clustered together in the dark.
Gather clean mason jars, pasta sauce jars, or baby food jars. Wrap them loosely with white gauze bandages or medical tape, secure the ends with a dab of hot glue, and let some layers overlap to mimic ancient mummy wrappings. Glue a pair of googly eyes peeking out from between the bandages. Drop a battery-operated tea light inside each jar. The light will diffuse softly through the gauze, casting a warm, textured glow that highlights the mummy details without any fire hazards.
