Tomato Cage Ghosts

Create life-sized, ethereal spirits standing guard in your yard using metal tomato cages from your summer garden. This brilliant repurposing trick creates the illusion of towering, faceless ghosts hovering over your lawn, requiring absolutely no sewing or expensive armatures.
Turn a metal tomato cage upside down so the pointed prongs are at the top. Tie the prongs together with wire or a rubber band to form a rounded head shape, or secure a small foam ball or balloon to the top. Drape a cheap white twin sheet or a few yards of cheesecloth over the cage. Cut out eyes from black felt and fabric-glue them to the head. For an extra magical touch, wrap a strand of battery-operated fairy lights around the metal frame before draping the fabric, making your ghosts glow from within as night falls.
