- How to make it: Route a shallow channel into a long, slender strip of white oak. Turn custom cylindrical pegs on a lathe, tapering them slightly at the ends, and glue them into pre-drilled holes along the strip at intentionally irregular intervals. Mount the entire rail securely to wall studs.
