7. The Mummy Wrapped in Knowledge

Give your door a classic monster makeover that is both easy to assemble and visually striking. Start with a black paper background, then wind wide strips of white crepe paper, gauze, or toilet paper diagonally across the door, overlapping them to look like ancient mummy wrappings. Leave a small horizontal gap near the top third of the door to reveal two large, glowing yellow eyes staring out from the darkness. To tie it into the curriculum, tuck paper “scrolls” containing historical facts, vocabulary words, or student goals between the bandages. Add a bold sign across the center that reads, “Wrapped Up in Fifth Grade!” This tactile, textured design is highly engaging and provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase student work tucked safely inside the mummy’s wraps.
