9. The Creepy Crawly Insect Invasion

9

Tap into the natural curiosity of fifth graders with a door that looks like it has been overtaken by a swarm of realistic, giant insects. Cover the door in a clean, light gray or off-white paper to make the bugs stand out. Use black cardstock to cut out large, detailed silhouettes of beetles, centipedes, ants, and moths, arranging them so they appear to be crawling up the door towards the handle. Add small 3D details, like raised wings on the beetles or wire antennae, to make them pop. In the center, place a magnifying glass cutout framing the words, “Examining the Wonders of Fifth Grade!” This design is perfect for science classrooms, blending a slightly creepy Halloween aesthetic with biological exploration.
