16. Ghostly Garden Swing
A solitary garden swing hanging from a large tree branch is naturally nostalgic, but with a few additions, it can become a beautiful, melancholic ghost story. Hang a rustic wooden tree swing using thick, natural rope. On the seat of the swing, place a delicate, life-sized figure of a young girl or Victorian lady constructed entirely from fine, white wire mesh or chicken wire. When painted with outdoor reflective or glow-in-the-dark paint, wire mesh figures have a stunning, translucent quality that looks incredibly like a real spirit.
