8. The Haunted Forest Silhouette
Evoke the eerie atmosphere of a dark, forgotten wood with a silhouette pumpkin. Carve away a large, rectangular window on the front of the pumpkin, leaving a thin border. Inside this window, carve the delicate, twisting silhouettes of leafless, gnarled trees, bats in flight, and a tiny haunted house on a hill. By keeping the silhouettes connected to the top and bottom borders, they remain structurally sound. A brilliant orange light inside will make the spooky forest stand out in sharp, dramatic relief.
